CDM2015 Consultancy

Having provided award winning CDM-C services since 2007, we are now able to offer an in-depth consultancy service in relation to the requirements of the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015. The regulations cover everyone involved in construction work, from clients to designers, contractors and building users/managers.

Our main role is in providing the Principal Designer function, across both schemes designed in-house and as an external sub-consultant. As a company, it is our belief that each project is unique, with its own challenges for all members of the design and procurement team. We therefore, individually tailor our services and fees to each project and client. Our primary duties as Principal Designer include, but are not limited to:

  • Advising on appointing the right people (designers/contractors/consultants).
  • Providing information to the design team efficiently, allowing adequate time for task completion.
  • Producing a Pre-Construction Information (PCI) document, based on an initial site visit and detailed desktop research.
  • Collation of all Designers’ Hazard Logs (DHLs) to create a Project Designers’ Risk Register (DRR). This is a ‘live’ document which we would be responsible for updating and revising throughout the scheme.
  • Producing a Residual Hazards Drawing.
  • Collating and issuing the project Health & Safety File, post-Practical Completion, including all ‘As Built’ drawings.
  • Ensuring suitable planning, management and co-ordination of the scheme from concept to completion.

We have also developed a bespoke, electronically searchable Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Manual for use on larger schemes. Working for the Principal Contractor, we take responsibility for collating all sub-contractors’ information, using a monthly electronic ‘tracker’, before issuing the final document, following a robust checking, testing and review process.
