Construction Work Well Underway at St. Giles School, Derby

Construction work at St. Giles School in Derby, to extend and refurbish the existing building and install a new enclosed soft surface play area, is progressing well on site. The £150,000 project is being designed and managed by EKV Design’s building surveying team, whilst TG Beighton have been appointed as Principal Contractor.

Joe Gregson, EKV’s Senior Building & Party Wall Surveyor, said: “The works currently on site, which are phase one of a larger project, are progressing well and we are very pleased with TG Beighton. School projects during the summer holiday period always bring pressure for the delivery team, however we are currently on target to complete by Friday 7th September as planned”.

Phase two, which it is hoped will be completed in the autumn, comprises the installation of a multi-use games area (MUGA). Situated within the school’s existing playing fields, the MUGA has benefited from Derby County midfielder Bradley Johnson’s £30,000 fund raising effort:
